MUSEUM "HOUSE MUSIC" Brasov (Brasov - Salzburg ROMANIAN)
George Dim a (Brasov, October 10, 1847 - Cluj, June 4, 1925), predecessor of Romanian Music from Transylvania, has established itself as a complex personality: singer (bass), conductor, composer and educator. His work original and unit includes refined secular and religious choral works, inspired by Romanian melodies.
He worked in Brasov (1873-1879), Sibiu (1881-1889), back to Brasov (1889-1919) and then in Cluj (1919-1925).
The choirs that led, approached a representative repertoire of Romanian and universal creation. He founded the Conservatory of Music in Cluj.
For civic and patriotic attitude was imprisoned (1916-1918).
